Dennis Schalliol joined Chicago Capital following 10+ years of executive level experience in the metal recycling industry experiencing both the commodities peak and subsequent downturns.  He has developed several turnaround plans focused on customer profitability and the corresponding downstream impacts to a company’s operational and support functions yielding substantial seven figure improvements to organizational financial performance.

In his previous role as Chief Administrative Officer at Pure Metal Recycling Dennis was hired to lead a turnaround of the financially distressed business.  Despite making significant operational cost and margin improvements the global commodity markets downturn in 2015 ultimately led to the closure of the company.

Prior to his time at Pure Metals Dennis was Vice President of Business Operations at Sims Metal Management where he led a successful business turnaround following the great recession.  His responsibilities at Sims ranged from managing a logistics department with 82 drivers to business plan development and due diligence for multiple acquisitions and several proposed greenfield projects to expand the company’s reach outside of metals recycling.  In 2012 he was selected to lead Sims’ North American logistics continuous improvement committee responsible for developing best practices and cost reduction strategies for all fleet locations in the U.S and Canada.

Prior to his career in the metals business Dennis worked in various roles at General Mills, Bank One, and T-Mobile where he was instrumental in launching some of the company’s largest market expansions and first generation mobile data services.

Dennis served as a volunteer on the board of directors for Sudden Infant Death Services of IL in the roles of President and Secretary providing fiduciary oversight for the organization.  He received a bachelor of arts in Political Science at Indiana University in 1993 while working in successive internships for the WV Governor’s office and the U.S. House of Representatives.
